Willis Wonderland AI Position Statement:
AI has created a sea change across so many industries and education is no exception. Whether we like it or not, AI is shaking up everything and is something that is or will impact students, teachers and classrooms everywhere.
We believe that all music educators should:
- Know what it can/can’t do and its risks & opportunities (knowledge is power)
- Be empowered to decide if AI is right for their classroom.
- Be aware that their students are likely being/will be exposed to AI
We also believe that people making decisions is the foundation of human creativity, well-being, and learning. Therefore, educators who elect to use AI in their classrooms should take as much care as possible (against a rapidly changing landscape) to ensure that AI is only ever used to supplement their teaching and their students' learning, not supplant it.
