This weekend Musical Wonders traveled to Portland, Oregon for a full six-hour creative music-making workshop with an incredible group of 28 teachers from across the region. It was an inspiring day filled with improvisation, arranging, songwriting, and the kind of musical exploration that reminds us why creativity belongs at the heart of music education.

A huge thank-you to Yamaha for generously sponsoring the workshop and providing each participant with a Yamaha Pianica. These instruments opened up so many creative possibilities throughout the day, and teachers loved exploring them.

We also want to express our gratitude to Andrew Thompson for hosting us in his amazing classroom at Aloha High School in Beaverton, OR. This space was the perfect environment for creativity to flourish, and we’re deeply appreciative of the support.

Below are some photos capturing the energy of the day.

Thank you to all the teachers who joined us. We can’t wait to come back to the Pacific Northwest for more musical wonder!
