Hello, friends!
We’ve got several exciting updates to share this week at Musical Wonders.
Upcoming Workshops
First, we’re thrilled to announce two upcoming Creative Music-Making Workshops on the West Coast. These hands-on trainings are designed to help teachers explore practical, joyful ways to bring improvisation, composition, arranging, songwriting, and technology into their classrooms. As always, these workshops are built to be welcoming, practical, and immediately useful for music educators in all kinds of settings.
We’re headed to the Los Angeles area on April 11th and the Seattle Area on May 2nd for full days of creative music-making, collaboration, and classroom-ready strategies. These workshop will bring together music teachers from a wide variety of backgrounds for an inspiring day of hands-on learning. Full details here:
A New Home for Musical Wonders
We’re also excited to announce the launch of our new website: MusicalWonders.org
For a long time, our Substack has served as the main home base for Musical Wonders. It will still be the home of our newsletter, but we’re now building something special and custom with a true Musical Wonders homepage as the foundation for our growing collection of teacher resources.
This is the beginning of a bigger vision: a better-organized, purpose-built home for the tools, lessons, workshops, and creative resources we’re building for teachers.
Because of this transition, we’ve had to re-host everything. If you run into any issues with any of our apps, please reach out and let us know. We appreciate your patience as we continue building, and we’re excited to share that more new website resources are on the way soon.
In Case You Missed It
We also want to highlight a very special recent post about our first-ever Curated Jam during the Texas Music Educators Association Convention.
Hosted by TxAPME and sponsored by the Willis Wonderland Foundation, this event brought together teachers, students, and community members for an unforgettable night of live music-making at the Hard Rock Cafe. Participants signed up ahead of time and performed on stage with musicians they had never met before, creating a one-of-a-kind experience built around collaboration, creativity, and community. We were also honored to have special guest Tom Zlabinger, whose outstanding charts helped make the night run so smoothly
It was a powerful reflection of what can happen when we make space for people to make music together.
Thanks for being part of the Musical Wonders community. We’re excited about what’s ahead and grateful to be building it with you.
